    Why use Kellogg's® Rice Krispies®?

As the first crisped rice cereal, Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® has been bringing families together in the kitchen for over 80 years.

To experience the timeless flavor, make your Rice Krispies Treats® squares with the original Rice Krispies® brand cereal.

    Where to buy

1. In 2-quart saucepan combine chocolate morsels and shortening. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until morsels melt and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.

2. Stir in KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal and pecans. Drop by
rounded teaspoon onto baking sheets lined with wax paper. Top each with pecan half, if desired.

3. Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until firm. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Note

Any variety of nuts may be substituted for pecans.

VARIATIONS: Add one of the following to chocolate-cereal mixture before portioning: 2 teaspoons grated orange peel, 1 teaspoon vanilla or 1 teaspoon rum extract.

At our family reunions in South Carolina, one of more of the aunties would bring Rice Krispy Treats. This is the one thing that my children, now all grown, remember so fondly about our family gatherings in the South. Clip art is from Lisa's Country Clip Art

1. When I make these treats, I drizzle white chocolate over the top, or crushed up peppermint candies, just for some added flavor and fun!
