Bonnie Ulman

Bonnie Ulman is co-founder and president of The Haystack Group, an Atlanta-based national marketing research, communications and brand strategy consultancy. She brings to the firm's clients – ranging from Theragenics Corporation and Pfizer to Mannington Floors and Best Buy – 20 years of experience focused on better understanding consumer motivation and behavior within the communications and marketing realms. She has co-authored numerous landmark studies, including "Running To Stand Still…," a benchmark paper about the impact of exhaustion on American social behavior and consumerism.

Before founding Haystack, Bonnie was global director of account planning for Manning, Selvage & Lee, a leading communications marketing firm, where she led a team responsible for providing insights into the attitudes, behaviors and trends for consumers across all walks of life. Her work benefited clients throughout the Manning, Selvage & Lee network in the United States and Europe.

Bonnie's experience in the consumer insights arena has evolved through integrated marketing experience. She served as senior vice president and practice leader for the consumer marketing practice of Manning, Selvage & Lee/Atlanta, supporting brands from Nike to Chupa Chups lollipops. As vice president of marketing for AMC, Inc., she was responsible for strategic design and management of all aspects of marketing. As vice president for Ketchum/Atlanta, she served clients including MCI (now WorldCom), VISA, Reebok, Simmons Company, The Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, and Orkin Pest Control. Bonnie also held the position of communications manager for the CBS Radio Networks in New York.

She is a frequent speaker on marketing research and marketing to mothers and women. She is co-author of the newly released book Trillion-Dollar Moms: Marketing to a New Generation of Mothers.
